DiversityMBA magazine honors three from Chrysler
DiversityMBA magazine has named three Chrysler LLC executives to its annual “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leaders” list for 2008. All three are featured in the summer 2008 issue of DiversityMBA magazine.
Christine Barman, Director –- Chassis Control & Safety Systems, Product Development; Richard Owusu, Plant Manager –- Jefferson North Assembly Plant (Detroit, Mich.), and Judy Wheeler, Director – Advertising, were all identified by DiversityMBA magazine as executives who have reached success within the highly competitive corporate environment.
Each were selected based on their position within Chrysler, scope of responsibility, community service work, their MBA degree achieved and other criteria.
“We are honored that the achievements of three Chrysler executives are being recognized by DiversityMBA magazine,” said Monica Emerson, Chrysler LLC Executive Director –- Global Diversity Office. “They have each traveled a variety of paths to arrive at this successful point in their careers. Chrysler’s commitment to leadership development and diversity provides the infrastructure for all employees to reach this level of achievement.”
Barman is responsible for active chassis controls and active/passive safety systems, leading the department responsible for the development and implementation of those technologies for all Chrysler vehicles. She also works with the Purdue Society of Women Engineers and is a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association.
Owusu is responsible for all daily plant operations at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant, including employee safety, improving and achieving production, product quality and budget objectives. He is involved in his plant’s “Paint the Town” and “Put a Smile on a Child’s Face” initiatives where employees participate in activities that benefit the local community surrounding his plant.
As Director –- Advertising, Wheeler leads the strategy and development for the Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge brands in the United States and international markets. She directs teams that create assets for TV, print and outdoor advertising, in addition to catalogs, brochures and dealer point-of-sale materials for all markets globally. She also serves as chair/president of the Chrysler Women’s Forum employee resource group.
DiversityMBA magazine targets multicultural professionals in corporate America, as well as business students and entrepreneurs with information, advice and news that helps their careers.
