Statement regarding Nov. 26 salary employee separations
Company officials released the following statement this morning regarding its current salaried and supplemental work force reductions:
“As part of its previously announced plan, Chrysler LLC is in the midst of a significant salaried and supplemental work force reduction. These actions are necessary to ensure the company’s long-term viability and competitiveness as we appeal to Congress for a $7 billion working capital bridge loan.
“We are committed to providing transitionary support that will ease these employees’ return to the workplace.
“Chrysler, the state of Michigan and Oakland County have developed a program that offers outplacement and re-employment assistance to employees leaving Chrysler through the nine Michigan Works! one-stop career centers in Oakland County. The program will offer a range of services including employment workshops, counseling and job services, such as career counseling and more.”
