Restored cop car goes on display
Retired Chrysler LLC employee Mike Quinn (center) is surrounded by employees Todd Fisher (left) and Duane Reifsnider in front of the 2006 Dodge Charger police car they recently restored. The vehicle was one of the first Dodge Charger police cars Chrysler began producing again in 2005 and was loaned for testing to the Auburn Hills Police Department. The vehicle, which accumulated more than 80,000 miles during testing over the past three years, provided company officials with valuable knowledge of real-world use. During testing, a number of improvements were identified and implemented into production models. More importantly, Quinn said, theĀ iconic HEMIĀ® V-8 Dodge Charger endured real-world police car testing without any problems. (Photo Chris Archer, Photo Imaging)
