Iyengar to receive career achievement award

iyengar_jayanthi_20051Jay Iyengar, who is the Head of Hybrid PowerTrain Programs for the Chrysler Group LLC, has been named the winner of a Women of Color Technology Award for Career Achievement in Industry.

Iyengar, who reports to Bob Lee, Head of PowerTrain Engineering, will receive the award at the 14th annual Women of Color Technology Awards Conference in late October in Dallas. The award honors the significant achievements of women in technology professionals. The conference will recognize 41 women, including Iyengar, as the most innovative professionals in the science, technology, engineering and math fields.

Hosted by IBM Corp. and produced by Career Communications Group Inc., the three-day event will promote women who have succeeded despite the traditional obstacles faced by women in these fields. Attendees of the conference, historically more than 5,000, will hear from executives of Fortune 1000 companies, who will present cutting-edge training sessions designed to address the professional development needs of entry- to senior-level employees.

In addition, the company produces award-winning, syndicated educational programming and nationally recognized engineering and information technology conferences.
