‘Shop for a Cause’ will benefit museum

Posted on Thursday, September 24th, 2009 at 4:09 PM EDT.

Looking for an excuse to shop ’til you drop? Let the Walter P. Chrysler Museum help in three easy steps:

1. Stop by the museum’s reception desk before Saturday, Oct. 17, to purchase a $5 discount pass for Macy’s Shop for a Cause Event.

2. Take your pass to any Macy’s store on Oct. 17 for storewide savings throughout the day.

3. Smile, knowing your $5 investment in the discount pass is benefiting the museum, a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization.

All proceeds from the museum’s sales of $5 discount passes will support the Big Wheel, Lil’ Wheel initiative designed to offset field trip expenses for kindergarten through 12th grade students. The museum offers a number of education programs that combine guided tours of the vehicle collection with grade-appropriate lessons in language arts, science, math and social studies concepts, as well as career planning.

Each $5 pass to the Macy’s Shop for a Cause Event provides a 25 percent discount on one item, with 10-20 percent discounts on additional merchandise. Some exclusions apply.

Passes are available 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. Sundays. To purchase passes before 10 a.m. or on Mondays, contact Cheryl Borkowski at cdb7@chrysler.comor tieline 754-0450.
