Statement regarding ‘caravan’ to Washington
Chrysler LLC officials issued the following statement on Nov. 26 regarding its participation in a “caravan” of supporters traveling to Washington, D.C., for this week’s congressional hearings:
“Chrysler LLC is overwhelmed by the demonstration in recent days by suppliers, dealers and other advocates to organize a caravan to Washington to show support for the company and the automotive industry. While we appreciate this generous gesture, the company is completely focused on our loan request submission, as we concentrate on the critical business issues at hand. Given Chrysler’s current allocation of human and financial resources, we are not in a position to be involved as a participant or sponsor. We are most appreciative of the initiative demonstrated by those rallying around Chrysler and our colleagues, as we work to return the American automobile industry to its rightful place.”
